The modules have been designed to bring the power
and utility of Pentium ™ class PC’s to embedded test and
control fixtures.
In addition the modules can be
provided
with
industry
standard
busses
such
as
CompactPCI® and PXI ™ for use in crate and rack
mounting applications.

The basic module package conforms to the single Euro
Card standard of 100mm x160mm x20.32mmCompact
PCI and PXI have also been approved. Connectors are
fitted to suit the bus and signalling requirements of the
specific application.
The module is normally fitted with a front panel, meeting
the EMC requirements of CompactPCI® and PXI ™.

The unit has been designed to operate in the harsh
environment of mobile phone manufacturing, where
EMC,
reliability
and
thermal
considerations
are
paramount.
In its role as an embedded fixture controller the module
is normally equipped with a front panel Ethernet
connector (10/100 mbs) and a serial connector.

Standard PC interfaces, video, keyboard and mouse, are
provided on a multi-pin connector located behind the
front panel and accessed via a removable cover plate.

For custom applications the module can be configured
for non-standard busses and special I/O interfaces,
additional functionality can be provided such as
embedded DVM’s and signal generation / processing.

A power supply module is also available, capable of
providing the power requirements of a small rack. This
can be supplied as a separate 20.32mm module or
combined with the PC module as a 40.64mm composite
unit.
