Negative numbers are represented in two's-complement format. 7.3 Feature Description 7.3.1 Temperature Measurement Data The local and remote temperature sensors have a resolution of 13 bits (0.0625°C). Temperature data that result from conversions within the default measurement range are represented in binary form, as shown in the Standard Binary column of Table 1. Negative numbers are represented in two's-complement format. The resolution of the temperature registers extends to 255.9375°C and down to –256°C, but the actual device is limited to ranges as specified in the Electrical Characteristics table to meet the accuracy specifications. The TMP464 device is specified for ambient temperatures ranging from –40°C to +125°C; parameters in the Absolute Maximum Ratings table must be observed to prevent damage to the device. Table 1.
